  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Let me set Source settings for clips directly on the Timeline!

Actually Rob if you set the clone tool in AE paint window, you can record paint over time. Its very similar to paint record setting in Autodesk Smoke.

that said for the past couple of months I have not been able to see myself use any other package apart from PrePro. Its just unbelievably fast.

This is not at all what I want - I want the same clone brush to follow a pimple or a wire or whatever as it moves across the screen - I do not want to do this by hand, but via trackers. Pimple removal may not be terribly glamorous, but it happens a lot day to day.

We aren't ignoring these problems. We talk about this idea often.... We have many priorities and many things to get done... You guys talking about this in a happy productive manor would help use prioritze.

Cheers

Dave

I don't mean to sound unproductive or unhappy. Like I said there is otherwise much to love about PPro and AE. I also want Avid to go away, as I mostly hate using it, so thus my saying (with annoyance) that many houses still use it and so I end up having to. Ppro, on the whole, is far superior in my opinion.

setting source settings from the effect controls panel would be a great thing.. also for ACR.. while new cameras will come up in the market using cinemaDNG.. it will be mandatory to have this feature..

yep you are right on this one.

Yes, that is a good thing, too.

100% agree this would be best way - effect controls could start, when first applied, by reading what it finds in the project-window based settings (i.e. the source settings as they are implemented now would feed their values as starting points) that way we could instantly add a little FLUT, or lift the shadows, or whatever small tweak is necessary for that particular moment in time, while keeping the overall look the same.
