Hi all

Now that Snow Leopard has been out for a while, can anyone at RED tell us what OS they are currently mainly developing on and for?

Ie. is there an imminent requirement, or compelling application feature, to jump from a stable Leopard setup to Snow Leopard? Of course I know at some point, some crucial piece of workflow will demand the upgrade. But are we there yet?

Thanks for any info.

Eric

I had the same question a few months ago, and checking around suggests that Snow is good to go. As I recall, Deanan mentioned, that many or most test machines for RCX were Snow and Jeff K also reported good Snow luck with red workflow in general.

I have not upgraded, and FWIW my RCX/Rocket transcoding is now rock solid.

Would be great to hear from others.

CS5 GPU acceleration seems like the main current reason to upgrade that I can see.

Premiere CS5 works fine under 10.5.8, FWIW.

Thanks Uli.

I've been on SnowLeopard for a long time and haven't seen any specific issues arising from it. The current FCS tools require OS 10.5.6 and higher.

I would totally go with SL. Less issues for sure in my case.
