Hello all,
I'm new to videography, so please forgive my ignorance.
I'm considering buying a Canon Mark 5d II right now and hope to buy a Scarlet non-fixed whenever they come out. My question is this: Would a lens used on the Canon work on the Scarlet or would I need an entirely new lens set when I buy the Scarlet?
Or is there some sort of adapter between the two?
I think the answer is no because the Canon says it uses an 'EF mount' while the Scarlet lenses that say anything about mounts say 'PL mount'.
Thanks all!

there will be several different mounts that you will be able to put on any of the non fixed scarlets. Look at the thread called "testing, testing" by Jannard

I did a search for "testing, testing" and didn't see a thread titled that. Is it under something else?

Does anyone know what kind of mount the mini-primes use? Aren't these designed to cover 2/3"?

Raul,
Thanks for the link. Those are some sweet images! I don't see a ton of new info there regarding lenses though. Is that adapter ring supposed to just do all the lens conversions between common lens mounts?

Hey Ross, there isn't a bunch of info- but it does say down where the accessories are:
"Interchangeable lens mounts....Sensor modules support PL, Red, Canon and Nikon mounts which can be interchanged..." and so on.

Raul,
Ooh, I missed that, cool. Thanks for pointing that out, and with your help on this thread!

Just remember that the Canon lens mount is probably not electronic, so you'll have to make sure you have a aperture ring on the lenses you get or you won't be able to adjust the iris without buying a 3rd party mount.
