Lenses used for "Octopussy" (1983)

[Remo Fritzsche]

Hello World

Does any one by chance know which lenses were used for shooting "Octopussy"? I'm thinking about buying into some vintage cine lenses from that time and I just realized that I really liked that look. Thanks for any infos.

Cheers
Remo

According to IMDB they shot Ocopussy with Panavision cameras. So I'd assume they used Panavision lenses too-which you could only rent.

To me the closest look to that glass would be Leica R's-but they aren't anamorphic like they shot that film with

Probably Panavision C-series anamorphic.

Thanks for your insights. Looks like the C-series are still only available for rent - bummer. I'm gonna have a look at the Leica's for sure though.

I know what people say, but I like it (as every non-Craig bond movie)
