Hi Guys

I had my first "5K" shoot yesterday since I received my Epic....in the past I shot everything in 5K-WS or other formats and when I took the footage into RedCineX this morning, I noticed some vignetting in the corners of the frame.
This is only really the case around the 18mm mark on the RED Zoom but it is clearly visible.
I was wondering if anyone else has come across that problem ? I know that with the change from 4-5K the image area becomes bigger and lenses with more coverage are necessary but I was always under the impression that the Red lenses were able to cover the full sensor area ?

You will also notice some vignetting at longer lensing if the focus is set just right. I can't remember right now but I want to say around 22mm ish I noticed some and then not at all the longer you get. Not a lot but the 17-50 does breath a bit and I do notice some other not as wide as 18 parts of the lens that does start to vignette.
Test test test and roll focus at the different mm at the wide end of the lens.
cheers
Russ

hey russ,

yep definitely some breathing there, i just wanted to check if thats a normal occurrence with the vignetting or if its just me, i know my red zoom is in need for a service so i wanted to make sure that not just another issue added.

peter: once i got past the 22/25mm mark it was fine luckily.

I have the RED ZOOM 18-50mm and 5kFF, the corners are vignetted. So what happens to these lenses at 6k or 8k?
