Hi,

Anyone using lens support with the Titanium mount on EPIC Dragon for the Cooke Anamorphics? (40mm specifically).

I'm looking for lens support recommendations -- plan to fit both a follow focus and the Bright Tangering viv box on the same 15mm rods.

The lens is fairly large and I'm worried about clearances. I have an EPIC Dragon.

Thanks!

I shot with them on Epic, you won't have any clearance issues. I didn't use a lens support; they don't have a thread for them so you'd have to use one of the supports the lens just rests on if you want to use one.

Thanks Joel! Good to know. Did you use a matte box that may have offered a bit of support? I'm looking at the WC lens support at the moment incase it looks like I need to have something.

Shot the Cooke Ana 40mm on an Epic with a clip-on LMB-5 (loaded with a Pola, ND and Hollywood Blackmagic) on steadicam. No lens support. Are you looking to add support to reduce vibration or are you worried about the weight? If it's for weight, you really don't need one.

Cheers.

Thanks Simran. Strictly worried about the weight. This is my first lens that is so big -- 7.5lbs -- and I just want to ensure the EPIC Ti mount and the screws that hold the mount in the camera are all rated to handle it. If I do use a matte box, it'll be the VIV on the 15mm rods, so not worried about addl weight, but atleast the lens itself should be good to go.

Sounds like it is, but I've just been looking for reassurance.

Thanks!
Nikhil
