Lens question...

What diameter ring would fit the Red Pro 17-50mm zoom lens and the Red 50-150 zoom lens listed at the Red store? Also, since the Red Pro 17-50mm zoom lens is a wide, does it even need a follow focus?

I am asking it here, even though I don't have a Red One. I just would like to know what diameter ring for a follow focus would fit one and/or the other.

Outside ring diameter is 144mm. You will need a Follow focus. Also the long end of the lens being 50mm is not wide.

Does one even need a ring adapter or can a follow focus use the gears on the lenses? Thanks.

Are you talking about something like a Zacuto ring? No, all cine lenses have those gears built-in. You only need those for still lenses.

I was talking about Red lenses. Thanks for your answer that all cinema lenses already have the gears. Thanks!
