Sharing info.

We’ve just received from RED’s support team and, in particular, Felipe who has assisted us with the utmost professionalism and kindness the info. about: Lens mount to OLPF distances.

This is - for us - an essential information, which was mainly requested in the context of our vintage lens tests.

Here are the lens mount to OLPF distances:

DSMC2 cameras (Weapon):
For the PL Mount it is 38.16mm and for Canon Mount, it is 30.16mm. Of course, this is the distance to the OLPF glass, but another thing to consider on your end will be the diameter of the lens protrusion. Anything larger than 21 to 22mm in diameter will hit metal part of the OLPF Metal Housing before it even reaches the actual OLPF glass.

DSMC cameras (EPIC/SCARLET):
For the PL Mount it is 40.5mm and for Canon Mount, it is 32.5mm. For DSCM1 the OLPF is contained in a rubber retainer, Anything larger than 18.5mm in diameter will hit the rubber retainer part of the OLPF Housing before it even reaches the actual OLPF glass.

All the best,

Richard
