I get confused with all the millimeter sizes of sensors and frame areas.

Will older lenses, such as Cooke 20-100mm, still cover the Epic's 5k sensor area like they cover the Red One?

Older lenses without Super 35 coverage (less than 28mm image circle), no. Modern cine lenses cover Super 35 though.

As far as the Cooke 20-100mm, not exactly sure -- granted its introduction in the early 70s. But given its manufacturing history till late 80s, it could be possible anyway. Even though the format has become popular only after mid 90s. And Cooke introduced the 18-100mm during the late 80s. So, I wouldn't confirm it at all.

I believe both the 18-100 and the 20-100 cover super 35. I think you have to remove the mask on the front of the 20-100.

Well, the difference should be around the 1,5mm gap.
