  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Lens cleaning preferences?

is it okay?

I have not worked with it- but my general thinking is that since glass is so expensive, and it effects so much of the final image, I'd prefer to use the best stuff on it. It may be $10 more, and I know it adds up over time, but I'd hate to have that $10 be the difference between keeping the glass pristine or not.

(I'm not saying that it doesn't work- but I do know that Pancro DOES work.)

Wow- that says a lot that it is made by Zeiss! Does anyone have any direct long term experience with this product?

Ryan, it's also the product that i see PixThis selling in their shop.

Shawn, that's the Zeiss stuff I mentioned in my post! I've been using it for over 10 years on nearly every lens I clean. It is the best in my opinion.

Nanofilm also bottles it for Eyeglass stores, so if you are lucky enough to find it at one of those, it is super cheap and they also sell pre-moistened towelletes for extreme portability.

Thanks for the heads up, I never noticed it there. Glad to know that I can buy it locally. :)

It is cheap in opticians. Same product. We buy it in the larger bottles. 6 Flos about 15 USD equivalent.

I've been using Super-Cote Cleaner for the past ten years with Q-tips. Works perfectly with no residual film on the optics (unlike other cleaners I've tried). I got mine from SK Grimes. I understand they use it exclusively which says a lot about how good it is. The best I've ever found, have cleaned a load of filthy lenses with it as an ebay buyer/seller.
