Hello, I would like to buy a wide angle for my Leica R set.

-Just wondering how Leica R Elmarit compares between 16mm vs 19mm V1 in terms of quality.
-Because 16mm is selling half as cheap. Do anyone had a chance to compare them side by side?

16mm is fisheye.

there are two versions of the 15mm. a f3.5 and a f2.8. The 2.8 version is hard to find and much harder to find in good condition. It's a step ahead of the 3.5 but you pay a much much higher price.

I both own a 15mm 3.5 and the 19mm V1.

quality wise i would say they are pretty much the same. I didn't do any sharpness tests with them though.
With the 15mm I quite like to short close focus distance it has. (Way closer then the 19mm).
But for the 15mm you will have to build yourself an adapter to be able to mount an ND Filter to it, since there are no filter threads on the front.

I've never used the 16mm but I have a 19mm V1. I really like the lens— it's soft and has noticeable CA wide open, but stopped down just a touch it preforms well on my Scarlet-W. You might notice worse edge sharpness if you're using it on a larger sensor.
