Incase anyone else runs into this, i recently picked up some Leica Glass, and cine-rings from Cordvision (great btw) come to find out, the ring was not mating to the 90mm lens at all, i had remembered reading that before 1980 (mine was 1980) the treading was actually 54mm, so i searched everywhere and found a Heliopan 54-55mm step up ring $30.00.....oh well, just take the hit. The step up ring arrived, and of course, wasn't the solution...it was in fact 55mm threading, but the built in hood was creating a clearance problem. I used a jeweler's screwdriver to unscrew a retaining ring inside the hood, and a plastic wedge to get it out. The built in lens hood now sits flush (or slightly below) and the cine-ring fits perfectly.
