  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Leica M mount is now available for Epic...

Sorry Martin your Summilux 35/1.4 will not fit...we sure wish it would though. An alternative would be the 35mm F2 Summicron (some versions). All Leica M mount lenses whose rear elements do not extend beyond the back of the lens mount itself will work.
By the way we have just devised a special mod for the Voightlander 12mm f5.6 Heliar to work with the Leica M mount on the Epic. 96 degrees of horizontal view! We are looking at other lenses for special modification as well.
Ron.

Ron, any plans to provide some footage of the mount in action? I'd especially like to see some low light shots with the Noctilux.

I'm super interested in shooting on this mount. This is gonna be great.

Ron -- What are the chances of being able to make this work with the lower focal lengths? I obviously don't understand the limitations, but I would really love to shoot on these lenses some day.
Thanks.

Harry...I believe a DP is about to post some video on this site very soon. We are also working on putting together a demo shot with Leica glass as well as two specially modified and prepared super wide lenses...one of which, the Voightlander 12mm Heliar is available now for use on the Epic.

Believe me so would we. The problem is that the case design of the Epic brings the front wall of the camera very far forward of the sensor. Without modding the camera it is impossible to get the large rear elements of the Summilux wide lenses, for instance, into the camera and achieve correct back flange distance. We are working on alternative wide options and are offering the Voigtlander 12mm Heliar and soon a 8mm!
