  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

LED in Edison base

interesting idea but very little output for any pro application. At this point
I would go with Rosco lite pads.

at what distance though? I would love to be able to set up and array of these
and have a super soft quick fall off compact key.

It looks like the may flicker at off speeds. It lists frequency as 47-63HZ. I've seen a lot of LED christmas lights that flicker very badly. Noticeable to my eye, let alone a camera. I don't even know how LEDs are powered. Why do some flicker so much?

Can't comment on these specifically, but I've seen and worked with numerous LED lamps that look just like them. I don't know if they were this exact brand, but were identical in appearance, even with the ribbed indentations on the side of the lamp housing.

All I can say is that they do flicker, noticeably to some casual observers like me. Not color balanced. I know the ones I've worked with were claimed to have a max output of about ~900lm or so, but didn't produce any visible output that appeared close to that. They are dimmable, yay.... Produced multiple edges to shadows and fall-off of the light output due to the multiple LEDs with only minimal diffusion on individual lenses.

Off the top of my head, I know I've seen some smaller versions of this lamp at Chipotle restaurants. The ones I've had experience with were bought by my electrician for use in some display cases and pendant lights over a bar. I can check with him and see exactly what they were.
