  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

LEARN- REDCINE-X PRO : AUDIO SYNC

Any Chance this can support Wav files, or is there a batch utility for mac to create BWF files from waves?

Thanks for putting up this tutorial. 2 weeks deep into a feature, using this function to deliver synced dailies to editorial within 20 minutes after wrap. I've never seen a team of producers so happy and surprised.

Thanks for this.

One question - Is there any provision for moving the audio files to a different location (drive) and being able to link back up to them and retain any offsets that were set up when originally syncing?

For example:
I sync the audio and RED media and save the RCX file. On some of the files, I do a little manual intervention to correct for timecode drift, etc. When I re-open that RCX file, I still see the synced audio and everything is great. If I move the media to a different drive and try to open that RCX file, it lets me point to the new media location for the R3D files, and finds everything great, but does not find the audio on the new drive. If I then go into the Audio pane and tell it where to look, it brings in all the audio, but I lose any manual offsets that I did originally.

It's pretty crucial to our particular workflow that we're able to move media around, but it seems to not be supported with Redcine-X Pro.

Any ideas?

This is amazing!

(Noob Q)
Once the wav is syned to the clip, how does one bring that clip into your NLE system with the linked audio?

Do you need to transcode it?
and
Will it retain the multi tracks of the WAV file?
or if I am on PPro and I am cutting with native R3D how does the audio stay linked during the import process?

Thoughts?

would like to know as well.. can someone give some info on this? if this works it's really great.

How do I trace the meta data of the converted files, once the show has been cut and is being sent to the sound house?
