I think ive asked this along time ago.. but forgot what the final thought on this was...

is it possible to let the monitor flip the image via software?
or is it not possible due to the monitoring path?

Just curious, as I would love to top sling my monitor.. but the holes are on the bottom or back..

Flipping the monitor would be a godsend. Here is just one great reason to do this - You can use the side with the best off axis viewing for the application. It's easier to see at one angle over the other, and if you can flip it, you can maximize that effect for good. Do it with my transvideo all the time.

Or Evil. :)

This may be showing up soon...
(edit: oops, forgot it was already put into b30)

It really would be extremely useful.

Already implemented in Build 30:

RED ONE OPERATIONS GUIDE, page 102
VIDEO
Allows you to select between NORMAL, FLIP H (Horizontal), FLIP V (Vertical), and FLIP H+V monitor path video orientation. Default setting is NORMAL.
Flipping the monitor path video maybe desirable when working with 3D beam splitter rigs, or when the camera is mounted inverted on a crane.

We don't want to flip the whole monitor path. The director doesn't want to see an upside down image just because the AC want to flip the image on the on board.

Thanks though, I had missed that this was part of build 30.

LCD output (only) FLIP

LCD output (only) FLIP

No, that's not an option for RED ONE unfortunately.
