Can any experts out there suggest the best, and almost best lav mics for plugging in directly to dslr and scarlet/epic. I would prefer these to go directly into camera and recorded onto the file and not in a external recorder. Thanks all.

Hi Manfred, thanks but I just need simple but high quality I can plug direct to camera while I narate what I'm filming. Mainly for like real estate videos. Dont need wireless since I am handling camera and the one talking.

Keep in mind Epic doesn't supply 48v phantom power so this won't work I don't believe.

For high quality we use lectrosonics sennheiser & Shure but for down n dirty the Olympus eighth inch plug in works great for scratch & RadioShack watch battery powered wired lav is a decent condenser option. Both run $50. Could also use a zoom or Tascam hand held & post sync with Olympus scratch audio with Pluraleyes.

Yes, Epic does supply 48v phantom power. If you are not getting it, either it's not turned on or your mics are wired wrong. See page 108 of the DSMC Ops Guide.
