Now what about those like me that have R1's but are leased and the lessee has no interest in upgrading, can we make good on the upgrades without trading in the R1's and pay up the full amount of the Epic-X?

EDIT: Just went back and searched around, yes we can Upgrade to the Epic-X paying the full 28K while still keeping the R1, GREAT, well just in case .
