  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Last minute simple feature request

well for music videos and so on, i tend to multipclip everything, but is what you want more like a video mixdown option like Avid has? Cause I've been wishing for that for so long now in FCP. I still think a simple 1 click button to "bring down your tracks" to fill up the empty space will solve 80% of what you want. Just to consolidate all the empty spacing with so many video tracks staggered and stacked.
I just try to stay as organized as possible ahead of time, it's easy to get messy in FCP. It may be more time consuming, but I consider it "your spending that time cleaning it up later anyway, what's the difference?"
and yes, let's hope for a feature like that in any of these new NLE's

thats exactly the feature I am requesting, I think its easily implemented since they already have similar feature for closing all the gaps in a timeline.

maybe so Tom. why not shoot them an email? but really, let's think about it. and by the way I love adobe's products. but they've got a gigantic wheel rolling with shipping dates next month. that wheel's not stopping. do you really think they're going to make a single change at this point? my guess: all the products are sitting in cellophane at the warehouses ready to go. adobe has an entirely different process and model than red - they don't do things last minute. this software has probably been pretty much locked down for months, awaiting the strategic time for release based on marketing.

so yeah, it's a great idea. but that's beside the point.

Emm!! Adobes final release version after shipping are usually the version 5.1, that way they get broad based feedback on what they missed. It worked the last time when CS4 was released. we bugged the hell out of them for certain simple features. as long as the features are not ridiculous, and out of the ordinary

This has been a long time request of mine, to allow multicam sequences to be collapsed. If that gets fixed, then you'd be able to project manage a multicam sequence correctly. As of CS4, you had to have a multicam sequence containing all the shots you wanted to cut between so that when you project managed, it couldn't get rid of the non used clips, because they were already in a timeline. Basically, just do it how FCP does it, Adobe should allow for collapsing and then going back to multicam if adjustments need to be made.

Apple added this feature in FcPX, Adobe sought of did in CS5.5, are they both reading my thread?
