Laser kills RED Sensors

Forget the lasers...who doesn't love the song!

We shot lazars towards our lens purposely for plate shots, many times the lazar when straight down the lens.

I have also heard bad things happening with lazars, but ... I got away with it.

I totally wouldnt risk it, unless someone is willing to reimburse you for any damage and all the downtime to replace. <http://photofocus.com/2013/09/14/beware-lasers-can-kill-your-cameras-sensor/>

The problem is that lasers come in various power strengths, and while typical laser pointers and low level "DJ" laser effect units may not cause damage, units designed for theatrical displays and performance venues are are much, much more powerful and will inflict damage not only only on electronic sensors but biological ones as well (i.e. your eyes)

Stay away from lasers. If I'm on a shoot and there's lasers around I just tell them "no fraking lasers" and walk off set with my cam (if they aren't complying) :D
