Lasers are also great for situations where you just can't use a tape - through glass, car-to-car, boat-to-boat, wild animals, cranes, mines, factories, industrial locations, dangerous fx where pyro is hot and you need that one last mark, etc.

We use tapes where tapes make sense, lasers where appropriate, sometimes we count floor tiles, sometimes we guess and pray. You do what you gotta do.

You can pick up a Hilti at Home Depot off Jefferson, or the Hilti Store/Center in Downtown LA (111 W. Washington Blvd, 90015 Los Angeles).

Also, if you wanna save some money, you can get the Hilti without the view finder (the 40?) and get the "Hilti PUA 60 Laser Visibility Glasses". They are red glasses that let you see the laser point better in bright daylight.
