  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

LART Torrents

Exactly. And if you want to get the whole picture (hehe) of what's going on, you'll need the full 4K clip. Sure, we'll probably have some 1080p stuff done as either down-rez or cropped sections. Anyway, lots of details to be worked out still and it's too early to say what will be available for everyone to see.

It'd be good if someone from Red could make a downloadable version of RedCine, that way we could download the footage in 4K and experience handling the conversion to whatever format we wanted. It'd also make it easier to manage all the footage for the LART team since they wouldn't have to do any processing and could just post the RAW footage.

i fully agree.

it would be quite helpful, if redcine is available to reservation holders before the hardware ships.

I figure Red could support this bandwidth wise on a few good servers and a good pipe (why make member eat the bandwidth)

Hey Guys,
I could set up a LART "Channel" on our bittorent client www.vuze.com. That way you could make whatever footage you want for sale, and any other footage you would like free.
I can create the Channel in just about 2 days and the footage can be directly uploaded whenever you like. You can direct people their through our magnet links. This way, everyone can enjoy the Footage and have and we can introduce LART to our Millions of viewers or "Vuzers" worldwide as a way to advertise them through the Channel button. Its completely free, i do this for many other small organizations and companies as well to help them get their products out there and videos to our user community. It's win, win for everyone. This way no one has to spend any money or waist valuable bandwidth etc.
Also, as a reservation holder myself, and fan of LART, i can't wait to see more of this footage! (also can't wait until March/April for mine).
What do you all think?

Sorry to ask of this is easy to find but:

Are there set dates and locations for LART yet? Is this an open invitation for all res holders/camera owners... are all welcome - maybe a sticky could be posted with the details of the where and when????

Thanks

Steve Gibby and I are producing LART in October. The location/studio is locked but the exact dates are not yet set as we are waiting on full RED ONE camera features enabled and, as posted previously, absolutely swamped with our first RED ONE projects.

LART is invitation only and the location is not public knowledge. The reason is simple. We have assembled an impressive team and an ambitious agenda for the 2 day event. So, we have to be focused and disciplined to pull it off, i.e, only the volunteers, crew and talent because we will be very busy in getting it all done.

That said, when we post the dates and agenda ANYONE that feels they can contribute to what we don't already have committed can PM me or Gibby with their ideas/offers.

More details coming soon...

VUZE is excited to work with LART on creating a high quality venue for 4k/2K HD+ footage. With our San Francisco and French Data Center's we have the bandwidth to support through a bit-torrent engine a means to scale sizes assuming the viewer has the ability to watch it. Our optimum size is 1920x1080P for most viewers to be able to play back the RED footage. Were developing a workflow starting with REDCINE and ending with a community LART Channel on Vuze in HD+. Have a great thanksgiving all!
