  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Hi there, have had quite a few inquires regarding my overall impression with the LAING steadicam.

I was really impressed with the build quality and finish of both the steadicam, vest and arm. I thought they were really well made especially considering the price point.

I was able to achieve dynamic balance in about 15-20 after a initial assembly, following a few tutorials and from past experience. This is with a bare 'epic' (side handle and 5' touch) and a canon 24 CN-E lens and remote follow focus.

I had no problems what so-ever with it and would recommend it onwards.

the main area that it falls short compered to other more 'professional' rigs is the ability to quickly go from one setup to another. I mean If you change lenses you have to recalibrate (which after practice you can bring to about 3-5 min down time)

However the biggest upside is the price.
