[Tom Lowe]

The other night I had a chance to see what Laforet has been shooting for Canon in LA. Some new Canon gear might be revealed in about 2 hours:

Rumor is a new 1D Mark V. Both gizmodo and engadget have some info.

[Emanuel A.]

More than a rumor, it comes in January.

Someone help me here.. But why do the flagship canon camera's not sport full frame sensors? There must me a simple explanation for it...

Because line skipping 8 lines is obvious even to amateurs?

Perhaps they have sold too many full frame lenses...

From where?

[albert rudnicki]

s-raw video at 1080p ?

[Chip G]

From where?

One of the guys ovevr at dvxuser posted it and he said he will report back soon with more details, it might have come from canon rumors.com, check that site first.

Looks like the release is coming at midnight tonight.

[Tom Lowe]

:wink5:

[Ace]

What? S-RAW video?

[albert rudnicki]

s- stands for sucks, unfortunately, unless they did something about it...

[Steve Gal]

seems to be a Raw recording module for the 5D MK2 and 7D and etc...

Still better than h264. Also, if they are pixel binning via S-raw rather than line skipping, then thats big for canon.

[albert rudnicki]

I dunno it'll be pixel binning, but then again I am born pessimistic...
S raw is not a valuable option really, it makes ghost hunters excited thought

[Evin Grant]

But not full frame.

[Steve Sherrick]

No footage yet. Hoping they release full size, full quality video samples.
