Seems like most firmware updates I see from RED has more Canon lenses getting support and rarely see Nikons! I don't care for autofocus, but could we at least get aperture control? In particular the 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR, and 70-200 f/2.8 VRI (but the VR2 works???). If Nikon lenses are so tricky to get electronic support then how about making a Nikon DSMC mount with an aperture ring?

Just would be nice to not always have to use my heavier PL lenses for smaller run and gun shoots which I could use my Nikkors!

Chris, you may want to look out for a used Optitek Nikon mount (dump mount), they pop up from time to time and are excellent.

I've been debating on it, but guess I prefer to have all RED products on anything hardware related-including lens mounts. But may go down that route soon if it doesn't change.

Still the number of Nikon lenses that are supported by RED are nowhere near how many Canons are. Yes more people choose Canon for video & there's probably more of a variety of lenses too; but why bother having a RED mount for Nikon?

Just compare

Out of all the Nikon lenses I own, two are supported on that list-and neither are my go to zooms.

I respectfully agree, have two cameras both with Nikon mounts. I would especially be interested in the newer released E lenses by Nikon (24-70 and 70-200) as they seem to partially work, so it is possible to support them, but they have not been fully included. I really like Nikon glass, and for stills am a Nikon shooter. For whatever it is worth, the new sidehandle works great with the Nikon 35 1.4 and the Nikon 85 1.4 especially for focus.

So my go to lenses when I shoot Nikon are the 14-24mm, 17-35mm, 28-70mm (old version) and the 70-200mm VR. I shot with all 4 today and they all worked. I don't know about tracking focus since I find it all too slow. But I could control iris and focus and I didn't have issues. Sometimes I have to reseat the lens. I am shooting on a CF Weapon. Most recent firmware

Am in the same boat.

Raised a support ticket with RED Team for Nikon mount lenses (Tamron SP 70-200MM and 90MM) support on Nikon mount... They said to support in future. But dont know when its going to happen.
The same Lens- Canon version is already supported.

I shoot Pics with Nikon D800 and have wide set of lens for the Nikon-F Mount. And this is the reason which made me to chose RED Nikon Mount for my Scarlet.

The lens compatibility issues are making me thinking to switch to Canon eco system... Which is a big deal for me (Need to replace my DSLR/Lenses). Not good. Not at all good.

On a long term, this pattern can be considered as RED's bias towards Canon.
I may be completely wrong about the Biasing.... But what else i shall infer? On one side, more coverage of Canon Lens and Minimal support to Nikon Lens!!!

99.99%, This post may not influence RED to look at this issue. But i am left with that 0.01% Hope.
