Just curious -- what does everyone use to label their cameras, lens, accessories, and equipment? Stickers don't seem reliable, unless someone knows of a very strong kind. I need ideas. I wouldn't want my gear confused with someone else's.

Thanks in advance.

DYMO LABEL MANAGER 450D thermal printer with 24mm x 7m black on white laminated adhesive tape. also DYMO LABEL MANAGER 210D for 12mm tape. works pretty good for doing everything camera - from slate labels + velcro, mags, shuttle drives, just anything really :)

Yep. DYMO printers do it well! I use LabelPoint 350 with the tape matching the part colour. I don't believe that it will stop theft, but it definitely will make it more complicated - there's about 40 labels in one R1MX Peli. Anyway, it's handy to have your sticks&stones labelled when you join big productions, where in our days almost everyone comes with his own pack of tools :)

Nail polish... then set it alight. Brands it for life. '-)

Do you want to brand it for life? Just make it difficult to remove? Or something that's easy to remove? These are very different options that go with these questions

I recently started using aluminum property tags from LustreCal in Lodi, CA. They're really robust and nice to look at to boot. You can customize fonts, colors, sizes, materials, and types of adhesive. Pretty expensive, but they'll last for years. If I had to do it again, I'd order a stronger adhesive, I just got the standard one and it doesn't stick as well as some other tags I've seen.

For labeling gear cases, I just use 1" P-Touch. For Innerspace cases, Black on Clear works well. P-Touch doesn't work as well on Pelican/ Storm style cases, especially as they get scratches up over time and accumulate layers of grime. 1/2" White on Black works well for lens caps and other small bits.
