  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

For all of you in the Los Angeles area...

The 405 is shut down on all lanes in BOTH directions between Sunset and the 101, as is Sepulveda. There is a fire in the pass between Skirball and The Getty. You can imagine what traffic today will be like.

I just got stuck going to a 6AM racquetball game. Took me 1/2 hour to get from Washington/Venice exit to National exit on the 405N.

If you're going, well, anywhere in LA this morning, I suggest you leave about 5 hours early. :)

And I thought traffic in Boston was tough. Forgot how bad it could get in LA.
 
It's the reason I lived 3 miles away from the studio when I was based in LA !!

Hehe... Whenever I get frustrated with traffic around Denver, I just remind myself what it's like to drive around LA and I it helps me feel a bit better about the situation. Although, we're headed the same direction, making most of the same planning / design mistakes. Another 8 years and 1M people (at the current growth rate) and we'll be where LA is now. ...I may just have to move.
 
i was in rhode island once.. and my dad and i asked the lady at the front desk of the hotel how traffic was.. and she said
"its rush hour so it will be bad"
we get on the freeway.. min speed was 75mph.. there were like 20 cars on the freeway.. and that is their rush hour..
I WANT THAT!!!!!

i dont stop speeding until my car does a 180 on the 5 with semi trucks inches away from my demise.


ps...
is it just me, or does everyone at some point when in LA traffic, just wish their car could just shoot straight up like a harrier jet, and take off above the cars..and when doing this you would just have your hand out the window giving all the suckers the bird.

hey Luki, this is def off topic but where do you play racquetball in LA? I just moved from Santa Barbara and am looking for a place to play squash.

Hey Matt...

I meet a coworker a couple of times a week at 24-Hour Fitness on Coldwater Canyon about a mile north of the 101. They've just got racquetball courts.

But - on 240 N. Brand in Glendale, there's another 24-hour fitness which has 3 Squash courts. I'm sure there's others, but I don't play Squash, so that's the only one I know. : )
