Just saw this at TIFF and was blown away by the cinematography.
Shot on a Red One MX, Arri Alexa Plus with Zeiss Master Prime and Fujinon Alura Lenses and Sony NEX-FS100. I'm guessing someone with a more educated eye than myself might be able to tell what scenes were shot with what camera.

Also the most expensive Norwegian film made yet, which I think shows in the superb and seamless fx and compositing work.

Highly recommended.

I'll ask Arne (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3041186/) when I get into the office on Monday. He was the visual effects supervisor, so he'll know. But I think the great majority was shot with the Alexa (RAW).

It is a visually fantastic film and I highly recommend it to anyone that gets a chance to see it.

I just saw this last night here in Chicago, and was completely blown away by everything. I can say with confidence that it was one of the best films I have seen in the past five years. The story of struggle and adventure was well-told, the visual effects were seamless, the cinematography was gorgeous, and the sound design enveloped you in everything that was going on.

I cannot stress enough how much I encourage all of you to see it if possible (and in theaters if it's still showing anywhere else!)

Geir Hartley is a very talented DP, he did a great job on Kon-Tiki.
One of the Directors Joachim Roenning often handles one of the cameras himself.

We (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Blue-Sky-Magic-Air/170847649605170) shot all the the aerials and boat to boat with Stab C gyro with Alexa and RAW recorder.

Took your recommendation and just watched Kon-Tiki yesterday at the Paris theater here in NYC. Truly a breathtaking film! The VFX were quite seamless (namely the storm scene and the shots with the giant whale/shark swimming underneath the raft and the great white on the stern.)

My only wish for the storytelling is for some events to be a bit less "convenient." ("Oh, we need money... don't worry, the first Peruvian investor we see will throw-down, no questions asked!" "We need a crew... don't worry! These five guys will be here to risk their lives in the next scene." "The protagonist has a big secret to reveal, and it just so happens that it conveniently ties into the only flashback in this entire script!"). BUT, all-in-all, the journey of this film was highly enjoyable to watch, and they used classic conventions incredibly well, and kept the overall style fresh.

I'm hankering to watch this entire 1950 documentary that the real crew made about the actual expedition. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGBHIFsn2K8 (Now, to learn Russian!)
