Wanting to get start/stop working with our WCU-4s (and AMC-1), but hoping not to have to buy an Expander module or B box. It looks like there are some 9 pin EXT start/stop cables, but not seeing one for the AMC-1 (10 pin). A 10 pin ext to the original 4 pin control Lemo (female) would work too since we have the original DSMC r/s cables...

Out of curiosity, why no B-box. I'm waiting on a Komodo and planning a similar set up. My thought was that the expander got in the way, but the B-box seemed like a solid option, especially with genlock and timecode, so I'm curious what your thought on it is. Just weighing options.

Hoping there’s a lightweight solution with the ext port. Also don’t want to take up one of the battery slots. Want to use a gold mount adapter.

A CTRL cable would not work for the AMC-1 currently as the DSMC camera's work on RCP1 & KOMODO uses RCP2 so Arri would need to update the firmware to allow it to talk to the camera.

If you wanted to you could wire up or have someone wire up a custom cable solution for you. We recently released the 9-Pin Flying Lead Cable which you could wire up either to a 3-Pin R/S or wire it up to a 10-Pin connector for on the AMC-1 just check the corresponding wiring diagrams that it can work & send the correct trigger.

I believe then on the AMC-1 there are settings for Momentary ground switching? I haven't used one in a while though.

But if you don't want to wire up your own there are plenty of R/S cable solutions out there I believe Wooden Camera has one.

So it looks like Wooden Camera makes the cable to use existing start/stop cables (for DSMC2) with Komodo:

I'll be buying this, thanks guys!

Hi Dan,

That cable won't enable RCP1 devices to be used with the KOMODO. Your device will still need to be talking the RCP2 Protocol & have a firmware upgrade from the manufacture to allow this. The use case for this cable would be using the SmallHD Cine 7 which has a CTRL port cable for DSMC2 control but with a F/W upgrade it is compatible with RCP2 so instead of needing two cables this adapter enables the monitor to be used.

See the quote on the product listing
"Please note that the RED® KOMODO™ utilizes RCP2 protocol so the device being attached may be incompatible or require a firmware update."

Thanks for this response Jonathan... that’s frustrating especially because the Wooden Camera sales rep didn’t know what they were talking about then because they said this cable WOULD work.
