  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Komodo Smallhd monior?

Regarding the Feelworld option indicated above, I have an older model 7" of theirs. It was cheap and bright, which is all I needed to use it on my gimbal. The quality is not as high as my SmallHD 702 or my Atomos Shogun, but it does what I expected.

The Feelworld LUT7S in the link looks to be of a bit higher quality than mine (at least based on web images), but not quite as high as SmallHD/Atomos. It also has waveforms, which mine does not. B&H has it for $369, which looks like a really good price. I don't know that I would use it for color accurate work, but I'm confident it would be a very good general purpose monitor at a great price. 2200 nits!

Is there any monitoring option for Komodo where the monitor is powered by the camera itself? Or does any external monitor need to have its own battery?

Jarred has stated prior because the camera is a lower power consumption cine camera, that it does not power a monitor.

Yeah, those new Blackmagic Video Assist 12G HDR units look fantastic. The 7" version even solves the problem of lack of XLRs on the Komodo
