Hi all. . .

I'm much more of a filmmaker than a DP, but I am very proud of the work we did in making our latest feature film, "State of Grace," which will have its World Premiere at the Chinese Theater in LA as part of the Dances with Films film festival this coming Wednesday night (June 28th) at 9:30PM.

Shot exclusively using two OG Komodos and Canon and Sigma EF lenses with a crew of five for just $80,000 (and everyone except my wife and I was paid!), it's an example of what you can do with very little. We had some terrific actors, including our LA-based lead, Sarah Drescher.

Here is a little bit about the film:

Following a surprise arrest for possession of eleven grams of the powerful opioid fentanyl, 31-year-old single mother Erin Sanders (Sarah Drescher) loses control of her life and the custody of her one-year-old daughter, Grace, to the Missouri foster care system. Inspired by actual events, and written, produced, and directed by Mary Settle Pruitt and Stephen Wallace Pruitt, "State of Grace" is a beautiful and deeply moving drama about the power of community and the price of love.

Here is information about tickets:

If you do come out, be sure and say hi!

Thanks.

Big congratulations to you on the release of the new film Stephen.
From afar, I've always admired your steady release of features films
going back to the RED One days (with the Birger mount).

At some point when the schedule allows I plan on binge watching your features.

Hope the premiere goes well.

Well, thank you very much Mr. Timmons! I really appreciate the kind words. This is a pretty special film in many ways, but one of these days I'll get a real DP to help me make 'em. But those darn ULB budgets keep getting in the way.

As it happens, right now my wife and I are watching what had been our second film (the miniseries "Terminal" that is about to be turned into a single film of 160 minutes) and I am simply amazed at how good that RED One MX camera looks on screen. Part of that good look is that I spent a ton of time learning to do color on that film, but it's just a great, great look in my opinion. And that crazy Birger mount! What memories!

Thanks for jaunt down memory lane!

Why don't you come shoot our next film next summer? (Wish I could afford you!)

I'm flattered and my price is negotiable but you honestly seem to be doing a great job DPing your vision as it is.

Glad you already are planning an expansion to your body of work.

Congrats! So great to see the Komodo being used exclusively for a feature. I am working on a short film right now (filming in July), a 30 min TV Pilot (POC) and then a feature (hopefully by the end of fall). All of these projects will be shot entirely on Red Komodos.

I don't know about your filmmaking, but whatever is wrong with mine has absolutely nothing to do with our Komodos.

:-)

Good luck!
