  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Komodo shipping?

Hi Paul. Can I ask when you ordered? I have one on order with CVP too. Also, did you order just the camera or one of the packs?

Hi Tony, I ordered on 2nd December 2020. I didn't order a pack as such but a plethora of accessories like small hd monitor, c-fast cards, card readers, outrigger handle, drop in nd adaptors, etc etc. All those items came pretty quickly but the Komodo took 5 months. Mind you the pictures from it are sublime and dare I say it, well worth the wait ( I think) !

That sucks! I ordered mine November 29th and haven't heard off them yet. Typically it's the weekend and I now have to wait until they open on Monday. I have my accessories already, just needing the Komodo now. Excited isn't the word.
 
As of today, May 19, 2021, B&H has a back order of 175 units and no visibility of when they will receive inventory. That is per my customer support chat exchange with them.
 
This is getting routine...to get a ship date from B&H, only to have it reneged and rescheduled in 30 days...over and over. This is the 4rth time B&H has given me a ship date, then slipped. This time, they slipped it to June.Simply frustrating. If anything comes along to rival the Komodo, I'm outta here.
 
I spoke with B&H yesterday afternoon about the status of my backorders (Komodo among them), and the young man stated that RED has not given them any information regarding the timing or quantity of the next shipment.
 
Hey guys, we ordered our Komodo Dec. 30th from Teltec (Germany). Sadly Red is not providing any information to them about the next shipments. They are expecting the next one in June/July and they are not sure how many units they will recieve. Sadly they need to have 24 units until our Komodo gets shipped. A friend of mine ordered a little bit earlier in December from another smaller distributer in Germany and he already got his Komodo weeks ago. Looks to me like Red is just sending the same amount of units to the different distributers, no matter how many they have on backorder.

When we ordered the Camera, I already expected a couple months of waiting, but we are waiting for nearly half a year now, which is quiet tiring, especially because there seems to be no clear communication.

Anyways, I hope all of you who are waiting as well will recieve their order soon. And if you still consider to buy (in EU), maybe consider buying from a smaller distributer & make sure beforehand how many units are on backorder.
 
One thing to keep in mind is that the bdy only kits are shipping out about 45 days faster than the kit bundles.
 
TRM in France just got a small delivery, but the last one was late march early April, and Red told them June would be a delicate month for deliveries.
I went from 13-14th in line to 4th and 5th. I should have my two units in July.

That's rough, but at least there are new deliveries somewhere.
 
Got my shipping notification on June 1st and should be here tomorrow. Ordered Jan. 23rd.....Yall hang in there....The excited me of it being otw is worth it

Out of curiosity where did you order from/ body only?
 
Okay, yeah I'm B&H too. I ordered a body only a week after you. I called though and they said it just said rough estimate for me is Mid August hopefully.
 
Do you guys think more komodos will be available soon since things are opening up? or will I have to pay extra for one off ebay to get one this year
 
Received ours today. Ordered about 2 weeks ago from Texas Media Systems. Terry over there has helped me out a lot over the years. As someone earlier posted, sometimes the smaller shops get inventory before the huge online retailers due to sheer size of orders. Cheers and happy shooting.

I would Highy discourage you to keep scalpers Business afloat buying one off eBay at much higher price.
But hey, t’s your money.
Still I think if no one would buy from them this situation would end and more people who really need GPUs, cameras or whatever could actually go and buy one and keep working and making money.
Every time you buy from a scalper you are just ruining it for everyone else.

I understand your point. I've been wanting a PS5 and the a new GPU for the longest time and have resisted paying a scalper because you're right it enables them. But I don't know a komodo is just something else... Maybe I'll order from a smaller shop or wait a few months and the microchip shortage is over
