  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Komodo shipping?

I think that those of us who have been RED users for some years would be in a position to wait, as long as there is a clear and transparent information policy, in truth what offends the most is silence, as if the users of the system were not important. I am in South America and I bought all the additional equipment for the Komodo configuration, and they arrived between December and February, I have paid import taxes and now there is this uncertainty about the delivery of the camera, I bought it at B&H on December 20th.

Greetings Angelo, did you order the basic equipment or any of the Komodo kits?

Greetings, have you made any questions to the B&H customer service department, have they given you any answer? Is there an estimate in weeks of the orders made to B&H?

I recently spoke with customer service and found out that their last shipment they received was end of January and they received about 20 units. Seems that they just got another shipment in since Lee got theirs on 3/12/21. Everytime I have asked they are unaware of incoming shipments and how many units will be included. Ordered mine on 2/3/21 so i suppose hoping for early May?

I ordered a Production Kit on 30 Nov. I just checked with B&H, estimated ship date is 19 April. It seems body only orders are shipping ahead of bundled kit orders.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. Last date I got from B&H for my Starter Kit was April 18. And the waiting continues.

I wish there was a way to have them ship whatever they do have on hand and send the rest later. Logistics nightmare be damned, I want my camera.

Here is my 5c — I've ordered 2 cameras in CVP at 17th Nov and the second one on 30th Nov. The answer I got yesterday was

"We are still fulfilling orders from late October.
As soon as we recieve your allocation, we will be in touch to discuss the balance and arrange delivery."

Probably I am gonna cancel second camera order and hopefully I get the first on May.

Ordered brain directly from RED on 12/22. Delivered 3/19. Almost a month ahead of schedule for what RED originally told me back in December.

Congratulations

Greetings, I congratulate you, with which supplier did you make the purchase?

I ordered on November 15th from the local red dealer in town. Still waiting and no word on anything. Any folks before me still waiting? I'm seeing folks WELL pass me getting their units in.

You're not alone. My local "standard dealer" got paid around Oct 20 and should have placed the order the same day or maybe one day later. They received two camera bodies in February, like every other european (standard?) dealer.
Except for the rental unit they received earlier, the February-delivery was the only one so far. I recently wrote to a RED sales rep (RED Europe) and they forwarded it to the headquarters. It wouldn't be so frustrating to wait, if there was more
communication between RED and their dealers. My main question was, how it can be that some people get their December order fulfilled, while others (maybe orders from abroad and Kit orders) are waiting since October. No complaint, I just wanted to know a bit more about this significant deviation as I thought the "normal" orders are being fulfilled on a first-come-first-served basis, no matter where on earth the order has been placed.
I think it will take at least a couple of days more to get a reply on this subject. Maybe there went something wrong with the supply chain for a Kit item?

Can I ask which country this applies to?

Totally get it. Seems like US orders are getting out faster than the rest. I was quite surprised when I got the call and saw many people on the forum not receiving orders. I contacted RED, B&H, Adorama, Filmtools, and a local camera store in my town back in December to see who would have the fastest ship date. That way I could compare estimates. RED was really the only company that could give me a for sure date of May. Granted, they have that information internally while many of the other companies were left in the dark on orders. So I went with RED crossing fingers. I will note that RED customer support for me personally was nothing but timely and professional. I know many people on this forum have different feelings entirely about that. I sent an email every month on my order date just to check in. Out of nowhere they emailed me on the 17th of March, saying it would be ready for allocation on 3/31 and for me to go ahead and pay. So I did. The next day I got a shipment notification. So it seems like they are making up for massive delay with setting low expectations with allocation and exceeding those expectations by shipping fast. I did pay extra for overnight shipping, which is why I got it so fast once they shipped. Hope you get yours soon!

The one and only beautiful "Switzerlandli".

So, according to your story, we all just need to write more emails and as soon as we meet the quotas, we'll get our camera sooner. Got it!
Just kidding. I'm glad you got your cam within or even sooner than the estimated delivery time.
The good thing about "Komodo received!"-posts here and on social media platforms is that we all can see that RED is really pushing to get all the orders fulfilled asap.
((...it's just the wrong order to fulfill the orders, IMO, but in terms of paperwork and troubleshooting / support, it's a lot easier to serve the US market first))
I'll let you guys know as soon as I have any news ...for the very patient (or desperate?) ones...
