Komodo shipping?

Greetings, does anyone know of the purchases made at B&H in the first days of December?

Nope; but today, my local dealer sent me this funny message:

RED has informed us that in February all dealers in Europe will receive 2 RED Komodo 6K cameras for the time being.
These two cameras will be given to the first customers on the waiting list.
Unfortunately, when the next delivery will be and how many cameras we will receive has not been announced yet.

...and I placed my order on October 19.
Maybe it really depends whether you placed the order with a premium dealer or a standard dealer... damn two-class society. : )

Anyone Order in mid-Nov and got his Shipping notification?
The last time I checked with the sales team, they told me That my komodo will be available on 20th Feb. It's getting soo close and I'm worried that it will be delayed again :/

Ordered from Red.com - Nov 17th

Also a mid-November order. No shipping confirmation quite yet, but that should happen this week, possibly as soon as Tuesday.

I ordered from B&H on 30 Nov. I just checked with them and was told my order won't ship until April, unless RED ups their production rate.

Oh man. That's quite the gut punch today. I ordered from B&H on Nov. 20 so I imagine I'm in the same boat. I guess I'm going to have to lug this Ursa around for a while longer.

I placed my order November 12th, and after being pushed back three months, was finally given a February 15th estimated shipping date. I paid two weeks ago, just called, and Red told me it will most likely be out by the end of the week. They have to get this batch of cameras ready, before they all ship out.

They're just trying to keep up with demand. So, all we can do is wait. Sucks, but what can you do.

I ordered mid Nov, but from RED dealer here in Norway. Have not heard anything from anyone. The dealer says they know as little as I do, so RED does not provide any info to its dealers.

Meanwhile someone else in his announcement of new camera say, aviable now IN STOCK. One of the most important feature IMHO, be able to buy and WORK.

That's ridiculous. I'm over waiting for this thing and hope RED can get their act together before DSMC3. As for now, I'll be focusing on building out my Blackmagic and Sony setups. I can actually match the A7Siii to the Dragon pretty well in post.

I feel the same. The excitement is pretty much over for me. Ordered mine mid nov through a dealer.
Just waiting for it to arrive because I have all the parts already past the return window. Would've cancelled it if I didn't order all these parts.

It is frustrating, it is the third Red camera that I have acquired, for 10 years and we had never gone through a similar situation, I do not know if it is because the market has given network advantages due to the quality of its equipment, but this situation is very unbalanced, there is no clear statement from the heads of the RED company towards its customers and consumers, beyond courtesy, it is a lack of respect. I think they should speak out and end the uncertainty and give dates. I bought all the components and accessories at B&H, otherwise I would have canceled the order, because I have felt violated and disrespected by this way of doing business.

Purchased mine 11/12 from BH - still waiting as well. They said there batches are limited to 5 - 15 bodies per shipment from RED.

Has anyone heard if shipments went out on Feb 20th. ? Ordered the production package Nov.6th and still waiting. Rep said she would call back and give me an update but it's been radio silence. Does somebody have any information? Anything?? I'm guessing it would have been smarter to order the camera body only and purchase the other components separately. Frustrating.

I talked to Red on Friday. They said this winter storm interrupted their workflow, since they receive some parts from Mexico, as well as other countries, with the final assembly happening in California. The sales rep said they were working over the weekend to build out this latest batch, and will ship them out as soon as possible. Mine was supposed to be shipped February 15th (I ordered it November 12th).

I actually get it on their end. They probably weren't expecting this much of a demand for the camera, coupled with the effects of the lockdowns had on their retailers, as well as working with a short staff. Add onto that a once in a hundred year winter storm that is not only affecting their assembly process, but will undoubtedly affect their shipping once the cameras are completed. They're being bombarded with problems.

But my sympathy only goes so far, especially now that I've paid for the camera. As well as the additional gear that I can no longer return. If this delay goes on any further, it will affect my work.

Red called me Thursday with much the same information on my mid November order. They did say the Mexico plant making Komodo parts had lost power during last week's storm, so I wouldn't be surprised if very few Komodos shipped on the 20th.

Sounded like they were trying to get a shipment out this coming week and at least have my order out the door before the end of February.

If this delay goes on any further, it will affect my work.

It's already affecting... already bought other stuff that I can't return now, spent money and waiting the call of a local dealer. I must admit that I'm starting to regret a bit the choice

Same here...a bunch of accessories ordered, now sitting on the shelf. This is not a good experience with RED. Looking around for an alternative.
