Hi everyone! My company wants to make a virtual production studio in Moscow, Russia and we are gathering info. Guys from Dreamworks suggested global shutter camera (so it has less moire close to LED walls). As I understand we wound also need genlock (which Komodo has) and 12G SDI (not sure why yet but I'll roll with it for now). Most common camera for VP is Blackmagic URSA Mini G2 but I've been told that Alexas and Reds can record mixed reality internally if we use real time keying instead of LED walls.

So my question is: Will Komodo work for us? If not, what would you suggest?
Any other advice would be very welcome as well because all of us are skilled in normal production, not in VP with RT keying, LED walls and Unreal Engine.

Hi Denis,
From all we know so far, Komodo fits the bill to a T.
One of the reasons I plan on getting 3 or 4 is for VP.

Phil might have more of an insight with the other cameras to compare with Komodo.

Have you tried VP with Reds? I haven't heard much about them in this regard.
