I'm wondering about the best way to achieve 15mm LWS standard while using the Red Expander Module. The Shape 15mm LWS baseplate for Komodo on B&H shows a photo of a setup without the dovetail plate, where the Komodo + Expander is mounted directly to the baseplate. Would this really get to the proper LWS standard in terms of being 85mm from center of rod to optical center? I would mount something like an Axler 15mm Rod Bridge Adapter to the front of the Expander module if I knew for sure that it would fit properly, also I would need to find the correct length of 1/4" - 20 screws if it did fit properly. Red obviously designed the Expander to fit some kind of 1/4"-20 accessory to the front, but what fits perfectly and is it LWS?

Has anyone cracked this or tried these setups?

I was in a same pickle as you 2 weeks ago. i got the Shape (as i am in Montreal same as them) and NO its not proper high and its about 3.5mm higher of the optical center. This is the issue with a Extender it self as its bottom plate, the "touch and go " makes that bottom block higher then should be... bad design on Reds part. I have tried WoodenCamera BM UMP block as well and the same issue.... in conclusion Shape solution will work and 3.5mm isnt a big deal for a doughnut to compensate if you are using a smaller lens. Adjustable MB will take care of that but its also step in to DSLR territory :(

i wanted to make a custom bracket that bolts on a front of Extender like old and original Arri 16SR 15mm LWS. This can be a solution to this annoying problem
