Yessssss!

is the Hydrogen deal over? thought I remembered 12/11 cutoff but was also waiting for rf AF support before deciding.

Awesome news Jarred!
Loving every moment since I flashed the new FW :)
Thanks RED Team for this early Christmas present!!!
Komodo is now twice as fun to use!

AF Improvements

Great with RF support, but what about this one? What has been improved? Also, are there any tests being done on face/eye-tracking? Meaning, is it something that might happen or is it something that will never happen?

If it is impossible to implement in-camera tracking for AF, I would suggest that this feature gets added to Red Control. The optimal thing would be to have tracking in-camera, but if the feature is too hard for the Komodo processor, maybe Red control could utilize the many ways a phone can track faces. We can now control the focus box on our phone through Red Control, but if that app could use the face tracking features and code that phones have, like many other phone apps use, it could essentially be a face tracking feature that doesn't need to be processed on the camera, just track the box on the phone app and send that box data to the camera for focus.

Just a thought.

Im in the same boat Michael, I have been waiting for a few things to be confirmed on the camera before putting in my Hydrogen offer.
And from what I have gathered they are so back logged on cameras right now (which is good in that they are a lot of them out there) that even if I gave them my money I might not see a camera for a while. Im hoping that there will be a little wiggle room on the cutoff on the Hydrogen offer..

Just a quick update I just tried to order a Komodo and the put in cart button is grayed out and states under to contact your RED Sales or slice for questions so I imagine they will take some of this in to account.

What's the best way to report bugs in the beta firmware? I ran into a few today that I'd like to send -- the Canon 800mm RF lens doesn't focus to 18ft (even when the camera thinks that's where it's focused) and it shows an aperture of 54.5 rather than the lens' actual aperture. The camera is showing the same aperture with the 2x teleconverter also.
