Komodo BP Latch Not Functioning

Hey y'all, got a komodo recently and found the BP latch isn't fully recovering after pushing in, leading to the battery not fixing into place.

Wondering if anyone has run into this and potential solutions. The camera has probably seen heavy use and thus the spring mechanism may be old/worn. I have the mutiny back plate with the metal backer coming in the mail so my short term solution was to put a small L bracket and connect it the cage which would theoretically place enough downward force so it doesn't come loose off the bp plate.

Hard to tell but it looks like the little red tab on the inside of the left battery slot is not coming back into
the proper position to lock the battery in place.
You might consider sending it to RED.
I just got back my Komodo X from service for a USB-C problem I had since owning the camera and RED support came through and fixed that issue.

Even if your Komodo is out of warranty it would likely be worth getting the fix done just for the piece of mind.
