Hey everyone
Now that the tactical top plate and extended top handle are available, I just wanted to put out a (perhaps obvious) warning for Kippertie Revolva users.
The Red Top Handle mounts to the RMI block, then has a secondary support bracket that mounts to a 1/4-20 thread on the Tactical Top Plate. If you’re rigging the camera out and using heavy lenses, I’d imagine this secondary support bracket will be critical. I was really looking forward to utilizing it since my top plate arrived.
As you know, while using the RMI block, a “Risa RMI extension block” is needed from Kippertie.
Unfortunately at the moment, because of the added height due to the Revolva Riser, the Top Handle cannot screw into the Tactical Top Plate. It’d be fantastic if Kippertie or Creative Solutions would consider making a 1/4-20 extension at the proper height. But for now, the top handle is incompatible with the Risa Extension Block and the Red Tactical Top Plate.
I think we can all agree that Kippertie makes one of the best mounts on the market, and the Red/CS DSMC3 accessories are an excellent rigging solution that should be supported by more 3rd party manufacturers if possible.
