Hitting the Scarlet thread to see if any of my peeps who have managed some creative key mapping with a REDMOTE or other.

Basically, without doing a classy backshade, I am looking to switch between Resolutions and Frame Rates quickly when need be other than going through the menu.

Thanks in advance.

Did you know that red has a key mapping app?

its part of the red DSMC kit available at red.com/support

for what you want to do you have to first create the presets and then set the keys to switch between those presets.

Hmmm.

I i think the project TIMEBASE might have to be done manually. But.

create preset A as the 4k as you stated
create preset b as the 3k as you stated

map prest A to a desired button
map prest b to a desired button

this should do it.

I'm not near my camera to check, but I'm fairly certain I have created presets that incorporated project timebase. Also, do presets created in camera show up in the keymapper app? I thought that they did not. You may have to map to the presets in camera.

The presets you create in camera don't show up in the key mapper app, but there is a generic "Apply Preset" option in the app that prompts you to enter the name of your preset. If you know what you called the presets on your camera, you can configure your keys using the app.

You can indeed save a preset with "Project Frame Rate" and "Record Format". Set up your project (i.e. 25fps, 4K FF). Then go to MENU > PRESETS > CAMERA PRESETS > CREATE. Name your preset, then go down and select "Project". From the LEFt column scroll down to highlight "Project Frame Rate", then click the right-pointing arrow. Do the same for "Record Format". Then select "Create" and your preset is created. Repeat this for every different preset you would like to create.

Just map your chosen button on the REDMote to "Apply Preset: [NAME OF PRESET]"

To speed this process up, once you've made one preset with the parameters you want you can simply "Clone" it from the Presets dialog once you setup your camera in a different configuration. This way it will use the same parameters as your old preset (without needing to "find" them each time).

is there a good post/description of how to save key mapping, fan control changes, etc. the whole "save all to ssd" is confusing to me as it doesnt state "what" its saving per-say. Thanks in advance for the basic question.
