Hey all. So the Kessler KC-Lite 8.0 crane just went on sale for $575 in Australia (to buy it overseas the shipping is almost double the price). Just wondering if this would be a good crane for a stripped down Epic? Basically Brain and lens?

Hey.. working, but best for DSLR
KC-Lite 8.0 - 10lb... I thnk equal 4.5kg.. right..
your camera just 3kg? and u use brain and lens only? because EPIC 5lb [REMEMBER- BRAIN ONLY..... NO SIDE MODULE NO LENS MOUNT ]
..
AND POWER,PLATES.. ETC...?

Just weighed it all. The kit I would be placing on the crane would be exactly 3.5kg (This kit is brain, side SSD module, top handle, 24-70 mm L series lens) Battery and external monitor would be based down on tripod not with camera)

Ohw So Good. and 10lb for technician
.. i think work well...
and technician calculate 10lb, so normaly worl 5.5kg :)

yeah Joshua. Kessellar Technician calculate weight, so Not high ohw not Less average for good performance...
so

I thnk .... Good. For your Setup (Now epic and canon..)

It's a great crane but really meant for a dslr or stripped c300. An epic is really pushing its limit. Maybe a totally striped down epic with external power could work.

because of the design the camera doesn't distribute the weight on the center op de crane axis, but on the side, so the heavier the camera, the more you are stessing the crane and making fluid operation more difficult.

I wouldn't buy it for epic use, for lighter weight cameras it's great!

Well thing is, I weighed my epic rig and stripped down I can get it to 3.5Kg and the max weight for the KC-lite 8.0 is 4.5Kg. 3.5Kg is with my heaviest lens as well. So even though its under the max weight do you reckon still not a good investment? Also keep in mind if I got this crane outside of Australia I am looking at over 1k just for the 8.0 lite.
