  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Kessler Crane CineSlider Group Buy - Feb 2012

Here's the link to the magic arm: http://www.kesslercrane.com/product-p/100153.htm ; it's a Manfrotto Magic Arm with a camera mount — you can get the same arm a bit cheaper via eBay, but you have decide for yourself if it is worth the trouble.

For those - like me - ordering from abroad, it might be worthwhile to use a shipping agency. I am using one that is specialized for the norwegian market, but by using them my total shipping costs will be about $200, rather than $450 by UPS. Search for something like "forwarding shipping USA [your country]" and see if that helps.

I can't decide on either the 3' or the 5'... Tom what makes you swear by the 5'?
My thinking is the 3' would do me better to start with as I don't need an extra tripod or light stand to hold it up and can just use my Oconnor.

Sometimes I just need that extra foot or two. You can always use less than 5 feet of a 5 footer, but you cannot add anything to a 3-footer.

Sorry to bother, what set up do you have there? Did you use a 100mm high hat + a fluid head or quick release plate + a fluid head?

Anyone know..can the 5 footer be center mounted to the Kessler Hercules head..? I know the 3 footer can do it.

With impeccable timing, my internet is down today. The whole area is catapulted into the 90s again. Anyway, I am working off mobile internet, which is slow and the bill will probably negate any savings I made ;)
