  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Kessler Crane CineSlider Group Buy - Feb 2012

Looks like we are going to reach our goal. Cool.

I'd say we keep the list open for a few more days, so that we have an insurance against people dropping out.

Is it a discount on slider only? What about accessories including case, outriggers, etc?

Discount is only for the slider. But take it that way, the money you save pays for the outriggers ;)

(I'm waiting on a reply from Kessler whether the discount can be extended on the motor/controller kit as well.)

I bet they'll ask for the whole group to purchase the motor/controllers to achieve a discount on those as well.... which is reasonable. If that were the case, tho... I'd be in.

good timing, Martin - I have been wanting one of these - can you add my name to the list? 5' please.

if they are game for discounting an Oracle package, i'd be on board for that, too....

I'm looking to purchase a 5' and a 3'. Would love a spot on the list.

Thanks, Martin.

We've now reached the goal; awesome. I've updated the first post with the names, and will contact Kessler to work out the details. My hope is to get our orders processed in the very near future, so that we can all shoot smooth tracking shots.

I'll leave the list open for now, so please do feel free to join in.

I'm in for a 5 footer. Will Kessler bill us directly or email a coupon code or what?

I'll go for a 3'.

Have you inquired as to whether the CineSlider will get updated at NAB?

Thanks for all the positive responses. This is actually fun!

Here is how the deal will work. I'll leave people until after the weekend to decide if they want to join in. So Monday evening is the deadline. On Tuesday I'll send out the special discount codes that I will get from Kessler; these will be valid for only a few days (Sorry Andrew). (I'll send the code via PM here on reduser. If you also want to get an e-mail, please send me an e-mail with the subject "Kessler Group Buy" to martin (do t) weiss (at) abitofmagic (d ot) no). With these codes you head over to Kessler and order your size CineSlider and accessoires. During check-out you will need to enter the special code; please do not spread the code. A few days later you'll get your CineSlider and will owe me a couple of beers, preferably Franziskaner Dunkel or Budvar. But I'm digressing.

The 15% discount code is good for the CineSlider as well as the drop down options listed under the “CHOOSE YOUR OPTIONS” section of the product page.

Sorry, no reductions on other accessoires or on the Elektra Bundle. Kessler is already operating with tiny margins on the bundle.

After this deal closes, you'll have to pay full price again. So for those who are wondering if they should join - use the weekend for pondering, and visit Vimeo for inspiration.

Remember that you have the following options of mounting the camera to the CineSlider:

Quick Release Plate & Receiver
- You would attach the quick release receiver to the carriage of the slider and attach the plate to the camera

Flat Mount Video Head (without ball mount)
- You would attach our Flat Mount Adapter to the carriage of the slider then mount a flat mount video head (example: Manfrotto 501,502, 503, etc) to the adapter

Ball Mount Video Head
- You would attach our 100mm High Hat or 100mm Ball Relocator to the carriage of the slider, then mount your 100mm ball mount video head to the bowl.
- If you are using a 75mm ball mount head, you will need our 100mm to 75mm bowl adapter

If you have an underused tripod head floating around, this is the time to put it to use. I'm currently pondering whether I should go for the quick release option to minimize weight, and have the camera as low as possible; or go for the hi hat, to be able to level the camera way more easy. What are your plans/thoughts?

Again, thanks to everyone for participating. Looking forward to seeing your sliding clips :)

Martin

Have you inquired as to whether the CineSlider will get updated at NAB?

No; when it comes to grip stuff I prefer proven solutions. Plus, I am an impatient soul, and if something new should get announced at NAB, it would most likely be a couple of months before I could have it in my hands.

Im going to try and see what i can do Martin, im seeing if i can get the money for it so dont count me out yet :-) Im chasing all the people that owe me money so i might be able to as its something i cant miss out on.

Only issue is im working away from home on Tuesday and Wednesday UK time so Thursday would be the earliest day i would be able to put the order through.

& Hi Hat for me.

Andi

Martin,
Thanks again for setting up this great deal. I have been pondering getting a cineslider for a while and this was the perfect reason to pull the trigger. I think that I'll be getting the hi hat just so I can mount my sachtler head.
Any thoughts on the all-terrain outrigger feet vs. the regular outrigger feet?

I too think I am going to go with the high hat so leveling the head on angled moves will be very fast and easy. Thanks Martin for putting all this together! Your saving me hundreds man!

Is there a cut-off date for signing up for this? I'm getting my financials in order and would like to participate but need to make sure all of the funds are available...
