"Just the Brain, Thanks"

[Michael Stanmore]

I was thinking about how I'm very likely to have a set of modules with my Scarlet (one day...) and if I feel like shooting something that requires more horsepower I will go to a hiring facility... but it'll only be to hire an Epic brain itself.

So I assume some of you hiring folk have thought of this and I was just wondering your opinions on it... I think you'll need to be able and willing to offer rates on just a brain, as well as on a full working kit... because there's a non-zero probability of many people who own the peripheral modules wanting to just hire the brain alone.

I also may need one or two other modules as well... but I will definitely want to pick and choose, not be lumbered with any sort of package deal thing...

Obviously a great many customers out there WILL want a package...

But in line with RED's modularity to the power of a bajillion... I'm thinking the hiring houses may need to have a sort of pricelist with a make-your-own-DSMC pick and mix opportunity...

Don't expect great discounts on 'brain only' rentals, you may find you have to pay nearly the kit discounted rate, remember businesses exist to make money.

I'm setting up an online shopping cart where you can choose just the modules you need. Of course I will also offer the usual package deal too.
