  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Just got the EVF... Is this normal?

I just received my EFV this morning, and in looking it over, I notice A LOT of free-play/slop in the jog wheel/button. Is this normal? I was expecting a solid/snug feel, which is not what I'm getting. Also, should the wheel/button do something with the camera? The three other buttons work, but the wheel does nothing.

Here is a subjective clip showing "A LOT" of free-play:

Yes unfortunately, the wheel has a loose feel.
You can make it better by removing the screws 4 screws and pad the inside.
If the EVF menu is enabled you can navigate it with the wheel.

In build 17 it's: System>setup>preferences>display>evf menu

It is free play, but when you go (build 17 and 16) to system/set-up/preference/display/evf menu and you put it on and you can change with the jog wheel /iso/shutter etc,etc..

enjoy your self.

Interesting... good to know about the preferences/evf menu-- I don't think I ever noticed it before. I think I'll wait a few days to decide if it really annoys me enough to justify taking the 4 screws apart, but thanks for the suggestion Anders.

I agree that the wheel is not what it should be. Mine is the same. Anders, can you please explain what your procedure is for padding the inside?
