  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Yeah, that post by Brent yesterday saying they're just getting to the Canon orders for the 300 at the event was now what they were on. Not that they're going slow since we don't really know how many have already gone out but only serial number 56 seems a bit slow considering they started shipping PL's on the 17th. I wonder if based on your timestamp your Scarlet serial is actually different than the order they ship. Like based on the SO if that is relevant. I'd be around 90, I wonder if they save serial number 90 for that camera based on the timestamp, and ship other cameras before due to there place in line whether it be the event or other reasoning. Looking forward to the ramp up like they made with the Epic stage 2's!
 
We still haven't heard anything about our Canon mount package, but we ordered about 5 days after the announcement. Will update...
 
I ordered around 7am the morning after the announcement, the scarlet AI, but i did it a la carte (didn't want the monitor). i'm around 800th in line based on #SO-0051665. I've been informed by the rep that there are no estimations on when the camera body will ship.

I also ordered a bunch of additional gear -- 4x batteries, 1 x charger, 4 x 64gb cards and the card reader, all of which arrived within about a week of purchase. The rep also notified me that the DSMC side handle I ordered is around 3-4 weeks from shipping and the redmote is 4-6 weeks out.

Hey Michael,

Unless you have an Epic in need of a side module, there's no need to order the side SSD. Every scarlet comes with one at this time.

Huh, I did the same thing. All I have been charged is the deposit for the Scarlet body. Nothing else has shipped or been charged, just says open order. How do I get RED to actually charge me for everything?

....I am now confused :(

Thanks Naoh...maybe I shouldn't have been so submissive and listened to RED's directions! :) I read several times that once you get your order confirmation, chill out.... they will charge the card and ship when ready...but I havent been charged for any of my 3 orders except the deposit for the Scarlet

Think I might have gotten hosed!

Seems like a weird style of transaction that you would place an order, put in Credit Card info, get a receipt that says what they are billing you "Today"...and then nothing....I have to call to complete it???No where did RED mention that.

Time to call I guess

No, you don't have to call. They will handle everything unless they need to contact you.

if you want/need to make early payments (ie make multiple payments then pay the cc, etc) you can buy contacting red directly.

i of course do not recommend anyone contact red unless to cancel their order until i get my camera though.

Hasn't changed yet on mine. Still says open.

My Scarlet is back on a fedex truck and heading to me :) It had to go to my business in Colorado, then on to me in L.A. Ill have it in hand on wednesday.

And then get ready to wait some more.
I am having the same kind of experience - tried to be patient and wait like Brent and Jarred said. But then kept seeing people getting bits of their orders that were ordered after mine (#50943). So I emailed support and finally got a Rep (2 actually) to charge me for things and get them into the processing line. Now the touch LCD looks to be backordered (even though it's 'in stock' on the website) as is the side handle.
Jarred said it should possibly be a good Christmas for those who ordered in the first hours - I was in the first 20 minutes, so hope is still there.
Unless I'm on the 'crap' list now for expecting better.
