Just got my KOWA 20mm T2 Cine Prominar PL

Yes, just received my highly anticipated KOWA Cine Prominar lens, T2 in PL mount. Have not worked with these Prominars before, but have wanted to for a while now. I will be doing some field tests on EPIC today, and will report back later.

I've been drooling over a set of these stashed in a glass case at a studio for a couple of years now... Someday I will convince them to sell them to me I must say, that lens looks to be in really excellent condition. Congrats Yousuf! Can't wait to see some images from this lens.

Did some tests yesterday... my observations so far:

- The look of the lens is similar to SB's but not exactly. I love the way it keeps edges sharp but diffuses light around the subjects, giving a somewhat dreamy look.
- Amazing looking flares, and it was VERY easy to flare. Pretty much every shot had a beautiful flare in it. I sometimes noticed it rendered hard light (e.g. partial sun) as a 10-point star sometimes, reminded me of master primes.
- This 20mm vignettes in 5K slightly. Not a big deal when the iris is open, but as I closed it the vignetted edges become darker and more pronounced. 4K is totally fine.
- Lens feels really light (definitely lighter than my 18mm K35).. we pretty much used EPIC handheld the whole time and it was a cinch.

Have all footage on my hard drive, will sift through it and post some examples soon.

Thanks Clint- I wish I could get the whole set at once, but I will have to put it together lens by lens because these are really hard to come by, especially in good condition. You should definitely convince that studio to sell the set to you, I'm in love...!

By the way, I bought a set of Super Baltars and they are currently getting serviced. Once ready, I will do some more tests to see how the Kowa 20mm compares with the SB 20mm. I think it'll be interesting.
