times you wish you had a camera...
But talking of spiders, for those of you out in LA specifically Hollywood hill, when I was walking the path to the Hollywood sign; me and a friend watched (for an unbelievable half hour) one of these tarantula hawk spiders drag a tarantula at least 40 feet. It dragged this considerably larger prey up the hill to a hole she had dug up the hill.

I mean it was fascinating, and after my friend calmed down she got totally enthralled.
If I had any camera, not just my Red, it would have been awesome footage.... cause it was toward sunset, and those wasp have a wild shiny iridescent copper colored wings and a blue shiny hairy body.
To me they are beautiful, a little large and freaky, but a kick ass insect never the less.
The cicada killer wasp back in Ohio (were I grew up) are a bit bigger and nastier, but not as cool looking as these guys... and hell they are only taking on cicadas which are their size or smaller and can't fight back.
