  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Hey all,

I just purchased a Dragon 6k from Blackwood Camera in Vegas. I am in the CT/NY area. It's been a long time coming and a long road of course. Happy and excited to be both a resource and learn from all of you guys and girls out there.

My first question is more of a post processing pole: What do you use and how do you do it? FCPX + Red Cine x? Adobe PP CC? Davinci? What is your editing/coloring workflow?

Thanks!

Congrats!

Motion: DaVinci Resolve for everything.
Stills: RCX to review clips and create .R3D stills => Photoshop.

FCP = fast easy and what the kids are using - lots of plug-ins and links to your iTunes for music
Resolve = Color grading as the primary mission - best secondary color control
PP = best NLE combing the above plus hooks into AE - wide internet tutorial support
RCX = preview ciips, make R3D's and Tiffs

Learn all four since each has it's place

BTW: Rand here has an amazing thread of resources concerning Resolve and is very much accomplished at its function:

Zeb,

Thanks Man! I don't know that I'm really that accomplished with Resolve, But anything I can do to help with the knowledge I do possess, just let me know.

As humble as he is accomplished ;-)
