  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Judge Dredd - 2012. RED One MX

There's some amazingly noisy shots, which bothered me in the theater. Given the release I assumed this was Epic, and wasn't corrected till I saw it on blu-ray. That said I still appreciate the scope of the movie, which much like District 9, used their limited budget to still do a lot of world building.
 
Everybody talks about the noise, but what about the aliasing on the Blu Ray? One of the worst offenders in this regard I have seen for quite some time. Otherwise a very interesting and beautiful film in the visual department.
 
This was shot on 3 different cameras right? Some Phantom and 2K mixed in?
 
One of the most underrated movies of 2012, and probably the best use of 3D in 2012 (I usually hate 3D, but this one made me rethink it again).

I didn't see the noise in the cinema (or any aliasing) - going to look again on the BluRay though.

Its a shame that this bombed so badly; even though reviews and fan reaction was generally positive (78% on RT - not bad for an R rated B movie). A lot of 2000AD fans were hoping for a sequel, but its not happening now.

This will become a minor cult classic, guaranteed.
